The QS-220 3DOF Full Actuators Set is the complete multi-actuator configuration for users who want a full-scale actuator motion system from day one. It delivers a much larger motion envelope than compact entry solutions thanks to the 100 mm stroke QS-220 actuators, while maintaining the low-latency response and high-frequency road texture that define the Qubic ecosystem. The result is a highly convincing driving experience with stronger cues during braking, acceleration, cornering transitions, curb strikes, and surface changes. During a race, drivers can feel every detail they would notice in a real race, including engine vibrations, road texture, bumps and jolts. The 3DOF set brings the feeling of a real racing session directly to your home.

QS-220 is engineered for demanding sim racing and professional simulation use where motion range, precision, and payload capability matter. Real-time vibration detail up to 100 Hz helps you feel fine texture and micro-events in the chassis, while Qubic Manager provides game-specific profiles and deep tuning options for intensity, filtering, and motion behavior. The system is linear, efficient, and designed for stable long-session operation.

This full set is also the cleanest path if you already know you want 3DOF. It avoids a staged upgrade process and gives you the complete architecture in a single package. Installation integrates into popular aluminum-profile cockpits, and the included control electronics provide safe operation through the Motion-Lock system and straightforward PC connectivity.

3 DOF Configuration

The full QS-220 3DOF configuration uses four actuators with 100 mm stroke, two power cabinets and one QS-MC6 controller. It provides pitch, roll and independent vertical movement (heave). The Intro set contains two actuators and one power cabinet; adding the matching Upgrade set creates the full 3DOF configuration while retaining the existing controller.

Plug & Perform

The power cabinets and actuators use detachable, shielded connectors with chrome-plated brass housings. Shielding helps reduce electromagnetic interference. Detachable cables make cockpit installation and cable routing easier. Connect the equipment according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Enhance Stability

Dedicated brackets allow QS-220 actuators to be mounted to compatible aluminium-profile cockpits. They help position the actuators on the frame and provide secure attachment. Check the mounting arrangement for your cockpit before installation.

What is QS-220?

QS-220 is a modular linear-actuator motion system built for realistic motion textures and real-time vibrations (up to 100 Hz), with very low latency (<8 ms) and high control frequency (up to 1000 Hz).

What motion configurations (DOF) can QS-220 support?

Standard QS-220 configurations offer 2DOF, 2.5DOF with QS-Pivot, or full 3DOF with four actuators. A 3DOF setup can be expanded to 5DOF with the QS-CH2 platform, which adds forward/backward movement (surge) and rotation around the vertical axis (yaw). Q-MODE is not available when QS-220 is used with QS-CH2. For 6DOF, QS-S25 is an example of a complete platform. You can also design and build your own motion platform using QS-220 actuators as components. Achieving 4, 5 or 6 independent degrees of freedom requires a suitable mechanical structure, actuator arrangement and compatible control system configured for that geometry. The number of actuators alone does not determine the number of degrees of freedom.
